Tessa Gage | Assistant Coach

Tessa Gage brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to her role as assistant softball coach at Shenandoah University. With a strong background in coaching and player development, Gage has demonstrated her ability to recruit and mentor top-tier talent, significantly contributing to the success of her teams.

At Lake Erie College, where she served as an assistant softball coach, Gage was instrumental in student-athlete recruitment, securing commitments from elite players, including those recognized on the Alliance Fastpitch national watch list. Her responsibilities extended beyond recruitment, as she played a key role in in-game adjustments, pitching coaching, and the planning and execution of defensive and offensive practices. Her dedication to the holistic development of her athletes was evident through her organization of community outreach events, study table hours, and skills camps.

Prior to her tenure at Lake Erie College, Gage coached at Turnin 2 Softball 18u Smiegel and Walled Lake Western High School, where she focused on infield and outfield coaching, hitting instruction, and pitching development. Her experience as a five-year collegiate softball player at Rochester College, where she excelled as a two-year team captain and led her team in multiple statistical categories, has given her firsthand insight into the demands of collegiate athletics.

Gage's commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for her athletes is matched by her ability to implement effective game strategies and enhance individual performance. With a Bachelor's in Business Administration in Sports Management and ongoing studies in a Master of Education in Sport Leadership, Gage is well-equipped to contribute to the continued success of Shenandoah University's softball program.

Her passion for the game and her dedication to her players make her a valuable asset to the Shenandoah University athletics department.
